The story of Tinka

How a 6-Month Student Job Became a 7-Year Career Journey at Vandebron

When I first walked through the doors of Vandebron back in 2019, my plan was simple. I just wanted to earn some extra cash as a part-time daily Sales Agent alongside my studies, and I figured I’d stay for about six months. Fast forward seven years, and I’m still here, now steering our commercial strategy as the Channel Manager of Telesales. My journey wasn't exactly a straight line, but leaving for a little while made me realize just how special this place really is.

After finishing my master’s degree, I took what felt like the logical next step and accepted a role at a different company. But it didn't take long for me to start missing Vandebron. One and a half years later, while sitting on a beach in Thailand, I found myself scanning Vandebron’s vacancy page. I realized I deeply missed the people, the diverse backgrounds, and the safe, motivating culture where making a mistake is simply seen as a chance to learn. I applied for a Team Manager role right there from Thailand, did my interview, and came back to the warmest welcome. Even though Vandebron had matured from a startup into an organized scale-up while I was gone, the green mission and that vibrant "just go for it" mentality were exactly as I left them.

Today, I lead the very channel where I started my career. I know firsthand that telesales can carry a negative reputation in the energy market, but I’m proud that we flip the script entirely. We never force anything on anyone. People call us for advice, and our specialists act as honest consultants. This transparent, relaxed approach creates an amazing vibe on the floor, where our team has built a tight-knit community of genuine friends who hang out long after office hours.

In our commerce team, we balance high performance with mutual respect. Bringing our A-game while looking out for one another. My own path from a part-time student job to a management position is proof of how Vandebron facilitates internal growth. If you are proactive, speak up about your ambitions, and align with our values, you can truly shape your own career path here.

What I also love is that you’re given plenty of space to make an impact outside your daily checklist. For instance, I joined the Works Council, while others join our summer hockey team or help organize events. Ultimately, it’s this social envirionment with a focus on genuine connection that keeps me energized. For me, Vandebron is a transparent, safe, and motivating place where I get to grow every day while making a tangible, positive impact on the energy transition.
