Job description

Who we are

At Vandebron, we're changing the energy landscape, moving away from the conventional and fully embracing sustainability. Our journey started in 2014 with Chapter 1, where we disrupted the market with a transparent platform connecting consumers directly to local, green energy producers.

Now, in Chapter 2, we're focused on making sure 100% green energy is available 100% of the time. This means smart solutions like the flexible use of wind and solar farms and efficient energy storage. We don't just wait around; we actively shape a sustainable future. Good energy, smart solutions: that's Vandebron.

About the role

As a Business Analyst, you'll be the crucial link between our commercial ambitions and our data. You'll work closely with the Growth team and other stakeholders, like marketers and channel managers, to provide insights into our commercial performance. You'll translate business questions into data-driven answers so we can make the right decisions and achieve our growth goals.

You'll be hands-on with analyses, building dashboards, and improving our forecasting models. You will report to the Growth Manager and collaborate closely with our Data team to ensure our data structure enables the necessary analyses. Your insights will directly contribute to Vandebron's success and the transition to 100% sustainable energy.

What you'll do

  • You'll provide teams with data by identifying data gaps and delivering ad-hoc and proactive analyses to help achieve our commercial goals.

  • You'll lead forecasting processes, responsible for acquisition and retention forecasting, and work closely with the teams to deliver accurate, data-backed projections. You will also present the growth story and ambitions to stakeholders.

  • Together with our Data Analysts, you'll standardize data by building and maintaining dashboards in Lightdash (daily, weekly, monthly) to make key insights easily accessible.

  • You'll improve our models by managing and optimizing the Customer Base Simulation (CBS) model to provide reliable estimates of our customer base.

Current and future projects

  • Developing dashboards to compare actual and forecasted budgets (cashback, channel costs, partner fees).

  • Creating accessible dashboards that consolidate key growth metrics and introduce new data points.

  • Working on a live CBS model that can be used daily for 'forward-looking' steering.

Job requirements

You'll be a good fit if you

  • Have at least 3, and preferably 5, years of relevant work experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role.

  • Have a strong, demonstrable command of SQL (especially Snowflake). Writing complex queries is no problem for you.

  • Are experienced in building dashboards, preferably with Lightdash.

  • Have a working knowledge of data warehousing and can collaborate effectively with Data Analysts.

  • Possess strong presentation skills and can convey complex analyses clearly and professionally.

  • Have excellent stakeholder management skills and can easily translate business needs into data-driven solutions.

  • Are driven by creating an impact and are continuously looking for ways to optimize processes.

What do we offer?

  • To work towards our mission with a good dose of energy, we offer you 30 paid days off per year.

  • A company bonus based upon the results of Vandebron.

  • Work abroad for up to 6 weeks per year (max 4 consecutive weeks, including up to 4 weeks outside the EU).

  • Employees with three years of service can go on a sabbatical for up to three months (one month paid with holidays, two unpaid).

  • Request special leave for significant personal events, volunteering for SDG 11 or 13, and an additional day for religious celebrations.

  • Fuel your brain with an annual €850 learning budget to grow personally and professionally.

  • Dive into new skills with access to Learning & Development workshops and programs.

  • Plan for the future with our 3rd-tier pension scheme.

  • Stay connected hassle-free with a monthly €50 net reimbursement for your phone and wifi.

  • One-time €200 net allowance to create a comfortable home workspace for our team members.

  • Split your time between our carbon-neutral Amsterdam office at the city’s heart and your home, finding the perfect balance for you.

  • Enjoy daily organic lunches prepared by our in-house cooks.

  • For those living 10km or more from the office, hop on board with an NS business card for smooth commuting.

  • Immerse yourself in the local culture by exploring Dutch language courses.
