Job description

As Pricing Manager you will maximize value creation for Vandebron whilst being price competitive and 'on mission’ in the market.

Who we are
At Vandebron, we're transforming the energy landscape, steering away from the conventional to champion sustainability. Born in 2014, our journey began with Chapter 1, disrupting the market with a transparent platform connecting consumers directly to local, green energy producers. Now, in Chapter 2, we are dedicated to ensuring 100% green energy availability, 100% of the time. Think smart solutions — flexible use of wind and solar farms, Smart EV Charging, and efficient energy storage.

No waiting around, we actively shape a sustainable future. Good energy, smart solutions — that's Vandebron.

Your impact
The Strategy & Business Development team is responsible for Vandebron’s sustainable growth strategy and community partnerships. The primary focus of the Consumer Strategy & Business Development team is successfully leading and converting new business strategies and collaborations in the world of leading (international) sustainable brands, while also being an important liaison to the Producer side of Vandebron’s business.

As Pricing Manager you have a pivotal role in the commercial success of Vandebron. You will set and steer our commercial (energy) prices balancing margins and price competitiveness, in line with our brand positioning. You are always in the market, reading competitive dynamics and the first to identify energy commodity pricing trends. In your role you feed the teams with competitor price insights and (product) opportunities to outsmart and outperform competition.

With your understanding of the energy value chain you are Consumer's liaison with the Producer domain where our energy commodity sourcing prices (including risk premiums) are defined. You understand and can clearly outline and report risks and risk materialization in Consumer's P&L. In your role you work closely with Commerce, Proposition and Finance teams and you are a virtual team member of the Portfolio Management (Producer) team.

What you’ll do

Value creation and steering: define annual commercial margin targets for all energy commodity products (e.g. electricity, gas, fixed fee and fixed/variable/dynamic contracts) and flexibility solutions in close cooperation with Strategy, Commerce and Finance teams. You set and steer our weekly commercial prices and pricing logic for energy commodity products for the Commerce team, based on purchase prices from Portfolio Management (Producer), given margin targets and YtD realisation and your sharp insights and analysis on competitive dynamics and price positioning.

Competitive commodity product portfolio: you are always in the market and you are the first to spot trends in energy commodity products and competitive pricing, identify threats and opportunities related to e.g. changes in regulation, price dynamics to outsmart competition. You share your insights to the Proposition team and work with the team(s) to design new products and ensure Vandebron has a highly competitive energy commodity product portfolio. You assess the (margin) risks of these new products in close cooperation with Portfolio Management and determine the commercial pricing of these products prior to final approval and launch. This also goes for flexibility products, HEMS products such as Smart Charging, which have a potential impact on BMR realization.

Insights for Commerce to navigate competitive dynamics: you analyze Vandebron's price competitiveness (pricing logic, tariffs, incentives), both for acquisition, development and retention. You develop and implement smart tooling which enables you to provide real-time clear insights (e.g. via price scraper, dashboarding) upon which the Commerce team(s) can make tactical and operational decisions for use of incentives. You also fuel the CLV model of the Strategy team, with your data and insights on margins.

Report and advice Consumer MT on commodity margin and risk materialization: your thorough understanding of the energy value chain and related risks. You report to and advice MT Consumer on the commodity margins and risks materialization in Consumer's P&L. As Consumer's liaison to Producer you understand Vandebron's risk thinking and core assumptions in sourcing and align on challenges when needed.

  • Mission-driven: you are passionate about contributing to our mission and making a positive impact.
  • Pricing expert: 5+ years of experience in sourcing (portfolio management), commercial pricing, value steering.

  • Work abroad for up to 6 weeks per year (max 4 consecutive weeks, including up to 4 weeks outside the EU).
