Job description

Who we are

At Vandebron, we're transforming the energy landscape, steering away from the conventional to champion sustainability. Born in 2014, our journey began with Chapter 1, disrupting the market with a transparent platform connecting consumers directly to local, green energy producers. Now, in Chapter 2, we are dedicated to ensuring 100% green energy availability, 100% of the time. Think smart solutions — flexible use of wind and solar farms, Smart EV Charging, and efficient energy storage.

No waiting around, we actively shape a sustainable future. Good energy, smart solutions — that's Vandebron.

Your impact

As a Pricing Manager, you play a key role in Vandebron’s commercial success by setting and steering our pricing strategies. Positioned within the Proposition Team, you bridge the gap between energy market dynamics, customer needs, and our mission. You ensure our energy pricing is competitive, aligned with our brand, and contributes to sustainable growth.

By tracking market trends, analyzing competitor pricing, and identifying opportunities to outsmart the competition, you’ll shape pricing strategies that fuel Vandebron’s growth. With a deep understanding of the energy market value chain, you will collaborate closely with Portfolio Management, Commerce, Finance, and Strategy to optimize our pricing approach.

You’ll be reporting directly to Bob Molenaar, Proposition Lead.

What you’ll do

  • Define & steer pricing strategy: Develop and implement pricing strategies for energy contracts (fixed, variable, dynamic) and flexibility solutions (Smart Charging), working closely with Finance, Strategy, and Commerce.

  • Optimize (weekly/daily) energy pricing: Set commercial prices based on purchase prices, margin targets, and market competitiveness.

  • Monitor market & competition: Track energy market developments, regulatory changes, price dynamics, and competitor offerings to identify threats and opportunities.

  • Enable smart decision-making: Develop tools (e.g., price scrapers, dashboards) to provide insights and support strategic pricing decisions.

  • Business case development: Construct business cases to evaluate the financial impact and strategic fit of new pricing models and product offerings.

What you bring

  • Pricing strategy – 4+ years of experience in developing and implementing B2C (energy) pricing strategies.

  • Energy market dynamics – Knowledge of energy procurement, risk management, and tariff structures.

  • Data analysis & dashboarding – Proficiency in Excel, SQL, PowerBI, Lightdash, or similar tools.

  • Competitive benchmarking – Ability to analyze competitor pricing and market trends.

  • Financial modeling – Understanding of margins, Customer Lifetime Value, cost-to-acquire, and P&L impact.

  • Analytical thinking & problem-solving – Ability to identify patterns and trends in complex data sets.

  • Stakeholder management – Effective collaboration with multiple departments and alignment on pricing decisions.

  • Strong communication – Ability to explain complex pricing topics in a clear and compelling way to non-experts.

What’s in it for you

  • A nice salary.

  • An annual bonus based on company performance.

  • 30 paid days off per year to recharge and find inspiration.

  • Work abroad for up to 6 weeks per year (max 4 consecutive weeks, including up to 4 weeks outside the EU).

  • A sabbatical opportunity after three years of service (one month paid with holidays, two unpaid).

  • Special leave for significant personal events, volunteering for SDG 11 or 13, and an additional day for religious or personal celebrations.

  • An €850 annual learning budget and access to Learning & Development workshops and programs.

  • A pension scheme to plan for the future.

  • A €50 net monthly reimbursement for phone and Wi-Fi costs.

  • A one-time €200 net allowance to set up a comfortable home workspace.

  • A flexible hybrid work environment with time split between our carbon-neutral Amsterdam office and home.

  • Daily healthy lunches prepared by our in-house cooks.

  • An NS business card for those commuting 10km or more to the office.

Why join Vandebron?

  • Make a real impact – Help shape pricing strategies that directly influence Vandebron’s success and the energy transition.

  • Work with great colleagues – Join an ambitious and mission-driven team in a supportive culture.

  • A role with ownership – Drive pricing decisions, work across teams, and build something meaningful.

  • A fast-moving environment – Stay ahead in a dynamic, evolving energy market.

A career move that matters

  • You’ll take the lead in pricing strategy, ensuring competitiveness and sustainable growth.

  • Collaborate across Proposition, Portfolio Management, Finance, and Commerce to steer pricing success.

  • Shape the future of Vandebron’s commercial offerings, making an impact in a purpose-driven organization.
