About the role

Technology is at the core of driving change, enabling innovative, scalable, and secure solutions that empower our Producers and Consumers. As part of our platform-as-a-product approach, we design and evolve our platforms with the same level of care, intentionality, and customer focus as our external-facing products, ensuring they deliver value to our engineering teams and the broader organisation.

What you’ll do

• Infrastructure Design and Management

  • Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure and our Kubernetes platform using tools like Terraform and Ansible, ensuring scalability, high availability, and disaster recovery measures are in place.

  • Provide best-practice configurations for shared components and optimise containerised workloads for performance and resource usage.

• Security and Compliance

  • Implement robust security measures, including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management, while ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.

• SRE and Troubleshooting

  • Set up monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify issues, perform root cause analysis, and contribute to incident resolution and continuous improvement efforts.

• Developer Experience

  • Collaborate with engineers and analysts to streamline workflows and improve the developer experience, focusing on simplifying the processes for building, testing, deploying and running applications in our K8s ecosystem.

• Collaboration and Communication

  • Partner with software, data engineers and other stakeholders to align platform capabilities with business needs, and effectively communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.

What we’re looking for

• Proficiency in at least one coding language (e.g., Java, Python, Golang).

• Expertise with cloud systems, including managed Kubernetes, networking, and storage.

• Deep understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, aligned with Google's SRE book.

• Familiarity with GitOps workflows (e.g., Terraform, ArgoCD).

• Hands-on experience with authentication/authorisation concepts (implementation experience with Keycloak is a plus).

• A passion for green energy and sustainability.

Nice to Haves

• A proven history of community involvement, such as blog posts, open-source contributions, or conference talks.

• Experience managing SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).

• Familiarity with IoT/Edge devices.

• Experience with Ansible for configuration management.
