This is where you’ll end up

We are looking for a hands-on and easy-to-approach Lead System Engineer to ensure smooth IT processes and awesome system administration. In this role you are responsible for all the business systems, workstations and internal network infrastructure within Vandebron. We maintain, update and upgrade our (cloud) business software. We ensure employees have the right tools and equipment to do their jobs. We handle technical questions, trouble shooting, fix problems, and automate processes wherever we can. We are responsible for a perfect working environment for all the systems that our colleagues at Vandebron use.

As the lead of a small team (2 people in total) you will also have budget responsibility which means you manage the total amount of money we spend on hardware and software during the year. You actively propose new ideas and tools that can increase productivity and joy for our employees. You will work together with a System Support employee that you coach to optimize daily operations of the work. Also together you will execute smaller and bigger projects that you align with other stakeholders and departments.

Job requirements

What are you going to do?

  • You’re responsible for managing and improving our systems and IAM design on AzureAD.

  • You will work on multiple cloud software solutions, including Azure, Google Workspace, EDR (Darktrace), VPN, and Asset management.

  • You and your team are the to-go-to persons for systems support of all 350+ workplaces covering hardware and software.

  • IT onboarding and off-boarding employees including hardware and software isn’t new for you. You work on automating this process as much as possible and make sure we are always in control of which users have what privileges on our systems.

  • You have the responsibility for monitoring and maintaining our business’ network including a stable local network and a secure firewall set-up.

  • Help test, setup and launch new business applications for the business, maintaining a secure business IT environment, implementing and executing security best practices.

  • Manage our fleet of OSX workstations using Addigy plus a limited amount of Windows workstations with Intune.

  • Coach, support and inspire a junior IT-support engineer

  • You are responsible for the Telephony CTI software which is integrated with our Salesforce Service Cloud.

This is how you make a difference

  • Get energized to start as our new Lead System Engineer and lead all IT queries.

  • Experience with setting-up hardened laptops (MacOS and Windows) and phones (iOS/Android) would be great.

  • Experience with remote device management (e.g. Jamf or Addigy or equivalents).

  • Experience with Azure / 0Auth, SAML/SSO, YubiKey, and other security systems.

  • Familiarity with phishing and other attack methods. You master the prevention how-to's;

  • If you have any experience with Google Workspaces we’re happy (G-Suite)/Microsoft 365 and user management (Azure AD, etc.).

  • Experience with Networking (Switches, Routers and Firewalls, specifically UniFi) and VPNs.

  • Experience with maintaining call center software. Experience with VOIP.

  • Experience with a ticket management system like Jira would be nice.
