This is where you’ll end up

The Data Analytics team consists of highly skilled data experts who provide data products and insights that are essential to developing innovative and smart solutions and to making effective decisions. As our data landscape continues to expand, we are looking for someone to support in bringing together information from different source systems and to maintain our analytical databases. As a Data Engineer you will play a crucial role in preparing data for analytical and operational uses and in maintaining consistency within our systems. Besides that, you continuously optimize business processes and your own productivity, so business owners can get answers faster and more accurately. Will you help us in increasing our data quality to facilitate smarter decisions across the whole organization

What are you going to do?

  • You work together with analysts and engineers from the Data Analytics team and domain experts from the commercial teams to identify informational needs.

  • You design, implement and maintain scalable and maintainable data pipelines to pull data together from different systems.

  • You help ensure that the data is organized and structured for use in specific analytics applications.

  • You will research available ETL tools & data warehouse solutions and present your findings in a structured way in order to make decisions together with the team.


This is how you make a difference

  • You have at least 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer.

  • You have a background on the intersection of computer science and analytics, for example: Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Business Analytics or Data Science.

  • You have a strong understanding of relational databases, such as SQL Server or Postgres.

  • You understand data warehousing concepts and preferably have experience with data management tools (e.g. Snowflake, Airbyte, Azure Data Factory).

  • You are skilled in SQL. Preferably you are also skilled in a scripting/programming language, like Python.

  • You are proactive in finding solutions for the challenges you encounter, and can achieve task objectives independently.

  • You are a teamplayer with a positive attitude and good communication skills.

  • You are flexible in dealing with change and have a mindset of continuous learning and growth.

  • You have affinity with the mission of Vandebron.

  • You are fluent in English (speaking Dutch is not required).
